OIX is a browser-based dapp, so you sign into it with a crypto wallet.
Wallets allow you to send and receive crypto, manage your private keys, and interact with web3 platforms like OIX.
To connect with OIX, you can use MetaMask, Coinbase wallet, or any wallet that has WalletConnect.
You can find a full list of compatible wallets on WalletConnect's website here.
When you connect your wallet, you will be prompted to sign requests with, and pay transaction fees from your connected wallet.
A signature request is when a dapp sends a small piece of data to your wallet. You sign the request to confirm the wallet received the data successfully, and to prove that you are the owner of the wallet. Signing requests doesn't cost a transaction fee.
Step-by-step instructions to connect your wallet
In this example, we will connect a MetaMask wallet. However, the steps will be similar for any wallet you choose.
1. Go to OIX and click Connect Wallet.
2. In this tutorial, we will a) click MetaMask. If you have a Coinbase wallet, b) click Coinbase. If you have another WalletConnect-compatible wallet, c) click WalletConnect.
3. After selecting MetaMask, a Signature Request screen will appear. Click Sign.

4. Your wallet is now connected! You will see your account balance beside the profile icon in the top right corner.
5. To disconnect your wallet, a) click on your profile and b) click Disconnect.
